How to Buy a Gadget for a Gift - and Get it Right

What kind of gadget do you think about when you decide to buy a gadget for a gift? What are the criteria?  It may seem like common sense but you'd be surprised at the number of people who forget to take into account the person they're buying for when they set out to find the perfect gift!  Often, not knowing what to buy leads to last minute panic and desperation and while this method doesn't always turn out bad, it'd be nice if you were armed with some great ideas before you spend your money.

Look for Clues!

boxing grannies There are all sorts of clues that will help you find the right gift and when you're setting out to buy a gadget it's no different. Think about the general lifestyle of your recipient, are they sporty? into practical jokes? a workaholic? animal lover? keen on "Green"? a student? a health and sports fanatic?  For the generally juvenile there's always a huge range of goodies, like the Boxing Grannies and the continuing craze for Shock based toys.  Think about hobbies, age and the kind of activities they are into or thinking of getting into.  How about something more on the gentler side like the cute Mood Beams? There's a gizmo for everyone - in every price range and at all levels of ingenuity and technical genius in the engineering.

Do your Gift Giving Homework!

So, what advice do we give when you set out to buy? A gadget is a great idea; low tech or hi tech, ultra trendy or fashionably retro.

sky challengerDeviltronics have scoured the world for fabulous gadgets and gizmos for just about every kind of person and personality imaginable.  After that, it's down to you - whenever you're buying, take time to find out what that person is interested in - if you find it's something that does nothing for you, get over it - it's not all about you!  Even more importantly, use this same advice when you're buying for a partner or close friend; get tuned in to their interests and apply some smart thinking.

Remember when you were a kid and you listened really closely to adults conversations around birthdays and Christmas so you could work out what you might get?  Well, apply this same principle as the gift giver - listen to conversations, ask a few subtle questions, and get clued up on what's floating your lover or your friends boat right now. Do you have a competitive "I wanted to be a pilot" person in your life? Chances are there's a perfect gadget out there that they'll love (we think the Sky Challenger Battle Kit fits the bill perfectly by the way).  The best thing about getting it right is that it takes all the anxiety out of the whole gift-giving process - when you've done your homework, you can have a lot of fun buying a present for someone.
